| Alexa Katherine Brown, 11, of Clyde earned her angel wings
Thursday morning (Aug. 6, 2009) while surrounded by loved ones. She courageously battled medulloblastoma cancer since 2006. Alexa was born Feb. 21, 1998, in Fremont the daughter of Warren and Wendy (Sarvis) Brown. She was about to enter the sixth grade at Green Springs Elementary School. Alexa was a high honor roll student. She belonged to both Clyde 1st UMC and Bellevue St. Paul’s UCC. She enjoyed outdoor activities, going to school and playing with friends and her siblings. After her cancer diagnosis, Alexa continued embracing life by engaging in these activities to the best of her abilities. She especially liked winning card and board games, reading, singing, country music, watching movies, the Disney channel and playing with her animals, dogs Sidney and Layla and cats Tink and Kitty. A special time almost each year was a beach vacation with her family and friends at the Outer Banks, North Carolina. Alexa is survived by her parents, Warren and Wendy; two sisters, Abby and Amanda; a brother, Ethan; one aunt, Heidi Sarvis-Sapp (David) of Berlin Heights, and children Andrew and Emily; four uncles, Randall Sarvis of Wilmington, Frank Brown (Kelly) of Marion, IN. and child A.J., Raymond Brown (Cheryl) of Port Republic, NJ. and children Ray and Samantha, Robert Brown (Marta) of Tonasket, WA. and children Stephanie and Michelle. Alexa was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Frank and Sylvia Brown and maternal grandparents Wilbur and Thelma Sarvis. A celebration of Alexa’s life will be held Saturday, August 15, at 11 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church of Clyde, 510 Maple St. All memorial donations should be sent to the Clyde First United Methodist Church for collection. All donations, unless otherwise designated, will be distributed to the following groups: CureSearch Back To The Wild Fremont Memorial Hospice St. Paul’s United Church of Christ Clyde First United Methodist Church and several small non-profit groups that send cards and small gifts to critically ill children. | |
