Mr. Sargeant was born on June 16, 1919 in Monroeville to the late Clayton and Nellie (Kaufman) Sargeant. He was a farmer is entire life and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, St. Rt. 99, Monroeville. He had also served three terms at a Groton Township Trustee.
On October 23, 1943, he married the Catherine Frey and she preceded him in death on May 13, 2004.
He is survived by two sons, James (Judy) Sargeant, Westerville, Ohio; Richard (Charlotte) Sargeant, Maumee; and one daughter, Judith (William) Miller, Sturgis, Michigan. Seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.
