Casey was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 26, 1972 to Timothy R. and Joyce (Uppdraff) McHugh. He graduated from Clyde High School in 1991 and had been employed at the Drake Logistics in North Ridgeville prior to his illness.
Survivors include his two daughters, Alexis McHugh and Sydnie McHugh in Elyria; his sister, Kelly (Ken) Cravens, Clyde; and three brothers; Tim McHugh, Clyde; Chris McHugh, Cleveland and Sean McHugh, Cincinnati. His father, Timothy R. (Connie) McHugh, Sandusky and mother, Joyce (Art) Shiley, Clyde as well as special nephew and nieces, A.J. Cravens; Jackie Cravens; and Ashley Cravens, along with four more nieces and nephews also survive. Casey also has six step-siblings that survive.
