Ronald Eugene Hofelich

Ronald Eugene Hofelich, 78, of rural Clyde, died Monday, April 8, 2013 at Stein Inpatient Unit in Sandusky.

He was born November 7, 1935 in Clyde to the late George Dale and Rose Mae (Grove) Hofelich.

Mr. Hofelich graduated from Clyde High School in 1954 and served our country in the National Guard. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Clyde Moose, and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. Gene had been a supervisor at the Whirlpool Corp for 41 years. He enjoyed farming in his spare time.

On September 28, 1957 he married Shirley (Wise) and she preceded him in death on June 24, 2012. Survivors include their children: Leslie Robinson of Flat Rock; Kenneth Hofelich of Fremont; Lisa (Michael) Doebel of Clyde; Denise (Walter) Rogalinski of Fremont; and Dana Dearsman of Clyde. Fourteen grandchildren,Amanda Guhn; Jonathan Guhn; Toby Guhn;Tyler Tea; Alexis Hofelich;Shauna Doebel; Sara Doebel; Ashton Doebel; Jennifer Sanders; Tyler Hofelich; Keisha Blankenship; Emily Rogalinski; Autum Dearsman; and Hunter Dearsman,
15 great-grandchildren, and his sister, Mary (Harry) Warner of Fremont also survive.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Hofelich was preceded in death by his siblings: Mercedes Shearon; Ellen Louise Smetzer, Dale Hofelich, John Hofelich, George Hofelich; and a great-grandson, Jacob Guhn.

Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8pm Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main Street, Clyde. His funeral mass will be 10:30am on Friday, April 12, 2013 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clyde. Rev. Eric Culler will officiate and burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clyde or Stein Hospice.

Visitation time: 2-4:00 PM until 6-8:00 PM
