Alan Arthur Schwochow, 64, of Castalia passed away after a lengthy illness at Stein Hospice on Sunday, July 30, 2017.
 
Alan was born on June 7, 1953 in Sandusky to Eric E. and Lucille (Norman) Schwochow.
 
He was a 1971 graduate of Margaretta High School. After attending Bowling Green State University for two years, he completed his Bachelors Degree at Capital University in 1975. He then studied at Trinity Seminary in Columbus, and was ordained in 1981.
 
Mr. Schwochow had started his ministry at Martin Luther in Bucyrus, then served at Atonement in Cincinnati; Zion Lutheran in Groveport, Ohio and St. John Lutheran in Port Clinton, Ohio.
 
He is survived by his daughter, Miriam Schwochow of Castalia; grandson, Atticus Peltier of Castalia; sister, Carol Hildebrandt of Bellevue and brother, Rev. Eric (Karen) Schwochow of Toledo. His former wife, Elizabeth Schwochow, Minnesota.
 
Visitation will be on Friday, August 4, 2017 from 4-8:00 pm at Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St., Bellevue, Ohio. His funeral will be on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 10:00 am at Grace Lutheran Church, Castalia, Ohio with Rev. Philip Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
