Alvin Eugene Middleton, 85, of Clyde, died at Stein Hospice in Sandusky on Thursday, November 16, 2017.

Mr. Middleton was born in Clyde on September 6, 1932 to Alvin V. and Clara May (Mears) Middleton. He attended Clyde and Fremont schools.

Alvin retired after 39 years from Whirlpool Corp. He was a member of the Clyde VFW , having served in the US Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Middleton was a "cardboard construction engineer". He was able to made items from cardboard that appeared to be made of different materials.

On June 9, 1956, he married Josephine Elaine Beard. She survives, along with four  children, Deborah (Raymond) Mossefin of Clyde; Barbara (Benny) Hall of Clyde; Ronald (Elizabeth) Middleton of Germany and Linda (Robert ) Green of Clyde. Nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren also survive. A daughter-in-law, Christina Middleton survives in Clyde.

Alvin was preceded in death by a son, Robert Middleton, two sisters, LaDonna Jean Stoka and Donna Irene Middleton and his parents.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the service at 11:00 AM at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens with military rites provided by the Clyde VFW and American Legion.

Memorials may be made to Stein Hospice.
