Donald C. Cagle, 72 of rural Clyde, died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at his home.
Don was born in Alabama on April 2, 1943 to Albert and Lois (Miller) Cagle. He moved to Clyde when he was young.
He attended Clyde schools and was a US Army veteran serving in the Viet Nam Era.
In 2002, he retired from Whirlpool Corp after 38 years of service.
Don was well known for his portrayal of the Lone Ranger, along with his son and brothers as Tom Mix; Rooster Cogburn and Matt Dillon. He attended many festivals and outings.
On May 26, 1967, he married Bonnie Kastor. She along with their sons, Michael Cagle of Green Springs; and Donald Chad (Stacy) Cagle of Clyde survive. Four granddaughters and the special extended family of Keri Wallace and her children, Gracelyn and Cooper all of Green Springs also survive. Two brothers, Ken Cagle of Clyde and Gary (Hazel) Cagle of Oak Harbor survive as well.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 2-6:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. The funeral will be on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 1:00 pm with additional visitation starting at 11:00 AM until the funeral the funeral home. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery with military rites provided by the Clyde VFW and American Legion.
