Ray L. FreySeptember 27, 1924 ~ October 15, 2017 (age 93)
Ray L. Frey, 93, of Fremont, died at his home on Sunday, October 15, 2017.
Ray was born in Fremont on September 27, 1924 to the now deceased Walter and Mary Viola (Herr) Frey. He graduated from Clyde High School and for fifty years was a over the road truck driver working for Jones Motor and Red Star.
He was a United States Army veteran serving in WWII.
Mr. Frey was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Clyde, the VFW and Moose of Fremont.
On December 26, 1947, he married Jean Wott. She survives, as do their children, David (Cathy) Frey of Hugo, Colorado and Debora (Robert) Hoffman of Fremont. Three grandchildren, David (Julia) Boger; Kelly (Richard) Johnson and Adam (Brandy) Hoffman, and five great grandchildren, Trey Boger, Bradley Boger, Kaitlyn Boger, Colton and Avery Hoffman also survive. One brother, Darl Frey and one sister, Eileen Frazer both of Fremont survive as well.
Mr. Frey was preceded in death by his siblings; Harold Frey, Charles Frey, Albert Frey, Dale Frey, Juanita Freeman, Mabel Cherry, Ruthie Frey and Letta Marie Frey.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 from 4-7:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main Street, Clyde. The funeral will be on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 11:00 am at the First United Methodist Church, Clyde with Rev. Sheryl Seitz officiating. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery with military rites provided by the Clyde VFW and American Legion.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or Sandusky County Human Society or Promedica Memorial Hospice.
