Carolyn K. Gooding Kuhlman, 82, of Clyde, more recently of Fremont, died at home on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.
Carolyn was born in Charleston, West Virginia to the now deceased Opal Faye (Rhodes) and Ishamel Lanham.
She had lived most of her life in this area, moving from Bowling Green, Ohio in her sixth grade year, then graduating in 1960 from the former Thompson High School. Carolyn then attended modeling school, taught modeling, then had worked at the former General Electric plant.
Mrs. Kuhlman was a business woman, having her own shop, Hair Plus, for many years, prior to her daughter owning the salon.
Carolyn liked baseball games, was a very competitive Bridge and Euchre player who enjoyed a glass of red wine!
On January 7, 1961, she married Wayne Gooding. Mr. Gooding died on November 9, 1992. Carolyn then married Robert L. Kuhlman on July 31, 1995, he survives.
Also surviving are two of her children, Tomi (John) Sachs of Bellevue and Troy (Lynn) Gooding of Capella, Texas. Four step children, Michelle (Kurt) Yearling , Mike Kuhlman, Matt Kuhlman and Adam (Chris) Kuhlman, seven grandchildren Jason, Ashley; Galen, Molly; Connor, Jori and Dimitri also survive. One sister, Joyce Thanasiu of Fort Myers, Florida is also a survivor. Step grandchildren, Keaton, Halen, Peyton, Ethan, Allison and Kaitlyn are surviving.
Carolyn was preceded in death by two sons, Mick Gooding in 2002 and Jeff Gooding in 2017, along with a sister, Janet Lanham Godbey and a brother, Robert Lanham.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 22, 2024 from 10:00 – 11:00 am at Grace Community Church, Fremont. The memorial service will be at 11:00 am.
