Herman "Buzz" Dayringer, 88, of Clyde, died at The Willows of Bellevue on Monday, March 4, 2024.
Buzz had been born in Sandusky County on November 5, 1935 to Ruth (Logan) and Harry Dayringer. His parents are deceased.
He was a self-employed truck driver prior to working at the former Armstrong Furnace in Bellevue. Buzz retired from there in 1992, after 27.5 years of employment.
Mr. Dayringer was a member of the Clyde Eagles. He was a fan of NASCAR and sprint car racing.
On October 1, 1977, he married the former Madeline Rock. She preceded him in death on December 30, 2008.
Five children survive: Christine (Terry) Barnhouse of Elmore; Pamela (Elwood) Dick of Fremont; Gary Dayringer of Fremont; Deb (Bill) Elder of Fremont and Cindy (Jim) Hackenburg of Clyde. Thirteen grandchildren, along with 26 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren also survive. The mother of his children, Cathy (Simco) Dayringer survives as well.
Buzz was preceded in death by a daughter, Teri Gregg, two grandchildren, Tiffany Barnhouse and Dave Gregg; his companion of eleven years, Judy Dayringer; siblings, Albert Dayringer, Martha Clouse and Darlene Miller.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the service at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 8, 2024 at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery.
