Bobby E. Highlander

Bobby E. Highlander Sr., 85, formerly of Bellevue, died Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at his home.

He was born March 19, 1934 in Alderson, West Virginia to Lloyd Deward & Erma (Ashley) Highlander.  He attended Clifftop, West Virginia schools.  He worked for the Chrysler Corp until 1978.  He was a member of the former Bellevue Missionary Baptist Church.

On August 1, 1953 he married Bessie (Kennison), who survives in Vickery.  Also surviving are their children: Sarah (Don) Bayer; Carolyn (Geoff) Mees; Bobby (Robin) Highlander Jr.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Zelma (Larry) Tolley; and two brothers: John A. Highlander and Eugene (Betty) Highlander.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his son, Joe; six brothers: Vermond, Duane, Lloyd, Ray, Claude, and C. Dale Highlander; and one sister, Wanda Highlander.

Visitation will be 9:00-11:00am Monday, July 22, 2019 at the Auxter Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1105 Castalia St, Bellevue.  His funeral service will be 11:00am Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Jeremy Highlander officiating.  Burial will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery.
