In the early morning hours of September 14, 2019, a beautiful, vibrant rose was plucked from the garden of life.
Carol Ann Lobdell, daughter of Herbert and Helen Behnke, born on March 30, 1937 returned home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Mrs. Lobdell was a member of the 1955 graduating class of Clyde High School. She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde, serving in numerous areas of the church, Women of the Church, Senior Choir just to name a few. Also she was a member and volunteer in the Clyde Garden Club, the former Progress Club of Clyde; Sandusky County Habitat for Humanity; Clyde Food Pantry, the Landscape Committee of Clyde.
For many years she had worked at the former St. Francis Rehabilitation Hospital in Green Springs as a medical transcriptionist prior to her retirement.
On November 14, 1959, she married Chester A. Lobdell, Jr. He preceded her in death on November 21, 2000.
Their sons, Craig (Cheryl) Lobdell of Dublin and Christopher (Sharon) Lobdell of Toledo survive. Grandchildren, Nicki (Joel) Pym, Megan (Jeff) Webber; Jason Lobdell and Samantha Lobdell, along with a great grandchild, Melody Pym also survive. Her sister, Linda (Rev. James A. ) Avers survives in Fremont. Carol's companion of ten years, Donald Fought of Texas survives as well.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 from 4-7:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde. The funeral will be on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 10:30 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Forest St., Clyde with Rev. Kurt Luebkeman officiating. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorials be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Sandusky County Habitat for Humanity.
