Cassandra N. Smith, 26, formerly of Bellevue, now of Willard, died Wednesday, October 25, 2017.

 

She was born May 22, 1991 in Bellevue to Stewart W. and Dana L. (Lieske) Smith.  Cassie attended Zion United Church of Christ, Fireside.  She graduated from Bellevue High School in 2009 and went on to study art at BGSU.  Cassie was a great artist.  She loved art, animals, music, movies, but most of all, she loved being a mom.  A vivacious, free-spirit, Cassie had the biggest heart and was always caring and loving.  

 

Cassie's other half, her partner, and best friend, Andres "Andy" Salce survives in Willard.  She is also survived by her daughter, Reighlyn Maye Salce; her parents, Stew and Dana Smith of Bellevue; her brother, Shayne Smith of Flagstaff, Arizona; her sister, Tiffany Smith of Bellevue; grandparents: Sandra Lieske Jones of Bellevue; Carollyn (David) O'Neil of Oak Harbor; great-grandmother, Olive Weller of Bellevue; her future in-laws: Oralia and Daniel Salce of Willard; Andy's sisters: Danielle (Brandon) Miller of Attica and Karina Salce of Strongsville; and niece, Kynlee Miller. 

 

She is preceded in death by her grandparents: William Y. Smith, Robin Lieske, and Don Jones.

 

Cassie courageously fought her battle with addiction.  She was honest and open about her struggles, and always wanted to help someone.

 

A private service for family and close friends will be held on October 28th with visitation starting at 2pm and a Memorial Service to celebrate Cassie's life at 4pm at Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St, Bellevue. Dr. Ted Clark, a family friend will officiate.

 

Memorials may be given to the Erie County Humane Society.
