Conrad E. Flood of Bellevue, died at Promedica Toledo Hospital on Wednesday, May 1, 2019.
Mr. Flood was born on May 29, 1932 in Bethesda, Ohio to the now deceased Carl and Mary (White) Flood. He graduated from Martins Ferry High School in 1950. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and focused on aircraft artillery while stationed in Germany. Conrad worked for the railroad as a traffic control operator for 42 years until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the Bellevue Masonic Lodge 273 (also of the Chapter, Council, and Sandusky Grotto), NARVRE, Bellevue VFW, Eagles, and American Legion. He was a former member of the Sandusky High 12 Club and the Bellevue Moose. Conrad loved traveling to see covered bridges.
On December 27, 1983 he married Mardella "Marty" (Barnett) Fisher Flood. She preceded him in death in 1984. Surviving are his step-children: Ralph (Wendy) Fisher of Monroeville; Mark (Nicci) Fisher of North Monroeville; and Pamela Drake of Mansfield; brother, John (Beatrice) Flood of Attica; sister-in-law, Marie Flood of Florida; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and wife, Conrad was preceded in death by his step-son, William Fisher; his siblings, Robert Flood, Phillip "Gene" Flood, and Eleene (Edward) McCann.
Visitation with family will be on Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Auxter Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1105 Castalia Street, Bellevue, with a Masonic Lodge Service taking place at 7:30. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2019 at Bellevue City Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Bellevue VFW, American Legion, and Four-County Marine Corps League. Memorials may be given to Shriner's Children's Hospital.
