Daniel Lee Shetzer, 61, of Green Springs, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, October 5, 2018.
Dan was born in Bellevue on November 17, 1956 to Lee and Janet (Scheerer) Shetzer.
He was a 1976 graduate of Clyde High School.
Mr. Shetzer belonged to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde, the Operator Union and the Carpenter's Union. He had retired from Anderzack Pitzen Construction in Metamora, Ohio. He had worked at Erie Blacktop and US Utility.
Dan was fisherman, hunter, carpenter. He was an avid fan of the Clyde Fliers, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and Cleveland Indians. But, his greatest joy and love was his family.
On June 25, 1977, he married Jody Burdette. She survives along with their daughters, Nikki (Doug) Lee and Danielle (Jack) King all of Green Springs. Three grandsons, Jacob Lee, Jordan Lee and Jackson King; his mother, Janet Shetzer of Clyde, along with three brothers, Mark (Teresa) Shetzer of Attica, Joe (Connie) Shetzer, and Kevin (Lori) Shetzer all of Clyde also survive. His in-laws, Paul and Linda Burdette of Green Springs; his sister-in-law, Amy (Rick) Rosenberger of Clyde and godchildren, Aric (Jessica) Rosenberger, Alex Rosenberger; Brooke Stockmaster and Ryan Shetzer. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Not to be left out, Lola, his faithful canine survives.
Dan was preceded in death by his father and brother, James Shetzer.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from 3-7:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main Street, Clyde. The funeral will be on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Springs Cemetery.
