Gregory Stiltner Obituary

Gregory Blaine Stiltner, 57, formerly of Clyde, more recently of Bloomville, died unexpectedly at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.

Greg was born in Fremont on March 22, 1961 to Jack and Bertha Irene (Blankenship) Stiltner. He was a 1980 graduate of The Harvest Temple Christian Academy.

In October of 1980, Greg joined the United States Air Force, where he honorable served for 20 years. After retirement, he worked for the Pentagon for seventeen years. He was presently working for the Erie County Jobs and Family Services in Accounting.  He had received his Masters in Accounting while in Washington, DC

Mr. Stiltner enjoyed fishing, but his greatest joy was playing with his grandchildren.

He was a member of the Clyde Eagles and the VFW and American Legion.

On September 9, 2017, he married Sandra (Woodward) Strause. She survives in Bloomville, Ohio. Also surviving is a daughter, Michelle Stilitner of Washington, DC; two stepchildren, Ashley Strause (Bryan) of Huron and Nathan (Tiffany) Strause of Norwalk; and seven grandchildren, Madelyn; Nadea; Gwen; Mack; Dreyden; Ava and Ella. His siblings, Pam Wagner of Clyde; Glenda (Randy) Slaymaker of Clyde; Melody (Richard) Waggoner of Fremont; Ron (Judy) Stiltner of Clyde; Ed Stiltner of Clyde and Tim(Melody) Stiltner of Clyde survive as well.  Sandra's mother, Thelma Woodward (David Profitt) survive in Republic. Sandy's brothers, Andrew (Angela) Elam of Port Clinton; James (Barb) Woodward of Fremont and Rick (Helen) Woodward of Lindsey are among his survivors.

Visitation will be on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 10:00 am until the service at Noon at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio with Pastor Paul Tyree officiating. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery with military graveside provided by the Clyde VFW and American Legion.

Memorials may be made to Adams Township Freewill Baptist.
