James K. Barnes, 66, of Clyde died at his home following an illness of several years on Sunday, September 22, 2019.
Jim was born on February 3, 1953 in Fremont to the now deceased Richard and Mary (Mann) Barnes.
He was a member of the 1971 graduating class of Clyde High School after graduating from the 8th grade at the former St. Mary Catholic School in Clyde
Mr. Barnes was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church; a lifetime member of NRA and a former member of the Clyde Moose; Eagles and VFW.
For forty plus years he worked at Whirlpool in Clyde, along with owning his own business, Barnes Electric.
His is survived by a son, James A. (Melisa) Barnes of Fremont; his fiancé, companion and caregiver Nancy Fleming of Tiffin; three grandchildren, Jame Allen Barnes, Jr; Julian X. Barnes and Aliza Jade Barnes. Nancy's sons, Kyle Fleming (Desira Freshcorn) of Columbus and Jared Fleming (Krystal Bohannon) of Tiffin and granddaughter, Skylinn Fleming also survive. His siblings, Richard (Deb) Barnes of Whitehouse; Kathleen (Richard) Pniewski of Naples, Florida; Paul (Karen) Barnes of Perrysburg and Shaun Barnes of Wightmans Grove survive as well. His half brother, Dennis Barnes survives in Fremont.
Jim was preceded in death by his son, Jason E. Barnes in 2013 and a half brother, Stanley Barnes.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 25,2019 from 9:30 AM until mass at 10:30 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church. Rev. Ed Schleter will officiate with burial in the parish cemetery.
