James R. Bonnette, 94, of Clyde, died at The Rutherford House in Fremont on Saturday, December 14, 2019.
Mr. Bonnette, was born in Templeton, Pennsylvania on September 4, 1925 to Raymond and Dorothy (Cochran) Bonnette.
He had retired from Whirlpool in Clyde, and had previously worked at Heinz. Both of employments were after he served in the US Army during WWII.
Mr. Bonnette was a faithful member of First Missionary Church in Clyde, where he had volunteered numerous times in the missionary trips and support of the missions through the church. He also volunteered at the Clyde food pantry until he was 91 years old, and had been a hospice volunteer. He spent his free time gardening and woodworking.
On June 1, 1948, he married Barbara Beers. She preceded him in death on April 3, 2013.
Survivors include his daughter, Kathy (Henry) Walpert of Helena, five grandchildren, Andrew Bonnette (Tabitha); Kimberly (Jay) Saldana; Karl (Julie) Wolpert; Joshua Wolpert and Jordan (Lynnlee) Wolpert. Nine great grandchildren, along with his siblings, John Bonnette, Kittanning, Pa; Madge (Hub) Wallack of Ford City, Pa; Geraldine Craig of Kentucky and Peg McElrooy of East Brady, Pa. also survive.
His son, Roger Bonnette preceded him in death. Alos one bother, Richard Bonnette; and four sisters, Betty Dickey; Alice Goldstrohm; Helen Clever and Lucille Burns.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 from 3:00 - 7:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. The funeral will be on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 10:30 am at The First Missionary Church, South Main, Clyde with Rev. Jeff Martin officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
