James L. Rust, 70, of Clyde, died at Stein Hospice, Sandusky, on Saturday, December 28, 2018,
Jim was born in Oak Harbor, Ohio on March 24, 1948 to Lester and Wilma (Samson) Rust. He was a 1966 graduate of Oak Harbor High School from Penta County Vocational and had attended Terra State.
For 28 years, he worked at Green Bay Packaging in Fremont as a corrugator operator. He retired in 2010.
Mr. Rust was a US Army veteran serving in the Viet Nam War.
On December 9, 1972, he married Donna S. Maynard. She, along with their two sons, Scott (Lori) Rust and Michael Rust, all of Clyde survive. Two grandchildren, Nicholas and Abigail Rust as well as a brother, David Rust of Oak Harbor and a sister, Mary Lou Hamilton of Clyde survive.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Raymond Rust.
Mr. Rust was a member of First Missionary Church, Clyde. Also a member of the Clyde Eagles and VFW. Jim liked golfing and fishing as well as yardwork. But his greatest joy were his grandchildren and family.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde. Rev. Jeff Martin will officiate, with burial in Greenlawn Memory Gardens. Military rites will be provided by the Clyde VFW and American Legion.
Memorials may be made to the Donor's Choice, however the family also suggests Stein Hospice or St. Jude's Children.
