John "Guppy" A. Gibson IV

John A. "Guppy" Gibson IV, 58, of Bellevue, died Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the Bellevue Hospital.

 

He was born February 14, 1960 in Akron, Ohio to John A. III and Ivy M. (Strader) Gibson.  Guppy graduated from Bellevue High School in 1978.  He had worked for Asplundh Tree Service, Star Lanes in Sandusky, and the Whirlpool Corp over the years.  He enjoyed bowling, hunting, and gardening.  

 

Survivors include his mother, Ivy Gibson of Bellevue; sister, Kim (Don) Oates of Bellville; nephews: Ryan Oates, Robbie Oates, Rusty Oates; great-niece, Makenna Oates; aunts and uncles: James Strader, John Strader, Richard Strader, Clifford Strader, Dee Strader, Shirley Williams, Mina Luzader, Junior Strader; and several cousins.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents: Linzy & Mae Strader and John A. Jr & Lona Gibson; uncles: Wesley Riffle; Robert Gibson; James Gibson; aunt, Glenna Lipps; and nephew, Nicholas Oates.

 

Visitation will be 5:00pm-8:00pm Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the Auxter Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1105 Castalia St, Bellevue.  A graveside service will be held Saturday, Sept. 8 at 2:00pm at the Orlando Cemetery in Orlando, West Virginia.  A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Bellevue at a later date.

 

Memorials donations may be made to the family to help with expenses.
