Lonnie Alan Dick, 71, of Clyde, died at Eden Springs, Green Springs, Ohio, following an unexpected illness of ten months, on Friday, March 15, 2019.
Lonnie was born in Fremont, Ohio on May 26, 1947 to the now deceased, Glenn C. and Margaret (Kuyken) Dick. He was a member of the 1965 graduating class of Clyde High School.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam War.
Mr. Dick retired from the City of Clyde in 1997, where he was the water plant superintendent.
Lonnie was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde, the Clyde Eagles and VFW. Also he was a bicycle enthusiast, belonging to Fremont Flatlanders. He enjoyed scuba diving and was more than competent with computers.
On January 15, 1 972, he married Carol S. Hughes. She survives, along with their children, Kevin Dick of Clyde and Mary Herrera of Bellevue. Two grandchildren, Chloe and Vincent and his sister and brother-in-law, Sharon "Sherry" and Jim Duskins of Clyde also survive.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 3-7:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde. The funeral will be on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Forest St., Clyde with Rev. Kurt Luebkeman officiating. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery.
