Margaret "Peg" Kaufman, 85, of Clyde, died at the Stein Hospice in Sandusky, following an unexpected illness.
Peg was born in Sandusky on August 6, 1934 to Eugene and Esther (Gurtz) Young. She was a 1952 graduate of the former Townsend High School.
In 1955, she graduated from the former Providence Nursing School in Sandusky as an Registered Nurse. She worked at the Bellevue Hospital full time until 1996.
Mrs. Kaufman was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church, where she was presently a coordinator of the funeral luncheons. Also she was a member of the Bellevue Hospital Auxiliary and formerly a member of the Providence Hospital Association.
On June 19, 1957, she married Cletus Kaufman. He preceded her in death on June 6, 2004.
Survivors include their son, David (Karen) Kaufman of Fairfield, Ohio; granddaughter, Lauren (Nathan) Mullins and grandson, Eric (Sarah) Kaufman. Great granddaughter, Norah Claire Mullins and brother, J. Michael (Peg) Young of Sandusky, also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jean Dubbert.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 from 5-7:00 pm, with Rosary at 6:45 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde, Ohio. The funeral mass will be on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 10:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, with her nephew, Rev. Tom Oedy officiating and Rev. Ed Schleter. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Clyde.
Memorials may be made to the St. Mary Church or St. Jude's Children Hospital or the food pantry.
