Michael Leonard Rogers

Michael Leonard Rogers, 67, of rural Fremont, died at his home, on Saturday, June1, 2019.

Mike was born in Bellevue on October 4, 1951 to the now deceased Lester and Myrtle (Holzhauer) Rogers.

He was a member of the 1970 graduating class of Clyde High School. He worked a Fremont Auto Parts for 35 years, retiring in 2011.

Mike had battled heart disease since 2011. He was the first person in Sandusky County to had a LVAD (heart pump) implanted. That was in 2012 by Dr. Mark R. Bonnell.

On December 1, 1973, he married Teresa L. Alejandro. She survives along with their two daughters, Maryann (Dustin) Gerner and Andrea (Robert) Hayward, all of Clyde. Six grandchildren, and one granddaughter expected in November, also survive, Chris I. Roger ; Zachary W. Hatlay; Jakob M. Hatlay; Jaedn L. Hayward; Kayen R. Hayward and Raiden M. Hayward. A niece, Penny Paynter and an nephew Jeffery H. Rogers also survive.

Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his brother, John L. Rogers.

Mike enjoyed watching the OSU football games, NASCAR; and the  Cleveland Browns. He liked to build models and playing farming simulator game but his highlight of his week was having the grandchildren over on Saturdays, along with hanging out with his dog, Connor.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 3-6:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. The funeral will be on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 10:30 Am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
