Nancy M. (Miller) Clapp-Keith

February 20, 1932 ~ September 13, 2017 (age 85) 85 Years Old


Nancy M. Clapp-Keith, 85, formerly of Clyde, more recently Bellevue, Ohio, died at her home on Wednesday, September 13, 2017.

Nancy was born in Clyde, on the family farm, on February 20, 1932 to Ernest Leroy and Irene (Zettle) Miller.

She was a member of Grace Community Church, Fremont. Among her hobbies were word games and playing cards. She was an avid reader as well.
Mrs. Keith retired from being a school bus driver for the Clyde-Green Springs School, being the first woman hired to drive bus. Along with the bus driving, she was the first Sandusky County woman to get her motorcycle endorsement.

On June 19, 1948, she married Robert Clapp, he preceded her in death on May 12, 1984.
She then married John Keith on November 10, 2001, he preceded her on October 15, 2016.

Survivors include her children, Jeff (Diana) Clapp of Luckey, Ohio; Laura (Earl) Murphy of Fremont; Larry (Cindy) Clapp of Clyde and Dorene (Allen) Frost of Bellevue. Nine grandchildren, and  21 great grandchildren. Also surviving are John's children, John Keith; Jenny Ziekler; Barbara Armstrong, and Joann Kindred.
Nancy was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Glenn, Don and Earl "Buzz" Miller and two sisters, Flo Shertzer and Gladys Logan.


Visitation will be on Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 2-4:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde. The funeral will be on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior, at Grace Community Church, Smith Road, Fremont. The Rev. Kevin Pinkerton will officiate and burial will be in York Chapel Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Grace Community Church.
