Nannette F. Villarreal, aka Nanny, to those who knew her, died Thursday, Dec. 7. Nanny leaves behind her oldest son Monty L. Kessler (Arizona), youngest son Joshua E. Kessler (Sandusky).  She also leaves behind six sisters: Larena Sebrell  (MI), Sandy Jesse (MI), Pat Leber (Monroeville), Nancy Smith (Monroeville), Marilyn Missler (Fremont)and Linda Anderson (Sandusky) along with three brothers: Richard Stegman (Bellevue), Kenny Crane (AL) and Larry Allen (Monroeville).   As well as her two loving friends, Mike and Linda Perry (Monroeville). She was recently preceded in death by her beloved husband and friend, William O’Dell.

No funeral arrangements will be held as Nannette graciously donated her remains to the University of Toledo’s Medical College of Ohio Department of Neurology.

Nanny was a lead singer and songwriter with a wonderful voice.  She was in several bands starting in her youth in Lansing, MI and later in Virginia and Ohio.  She studied at Lansing Community College in Performing Arts, received her Associates Degree at Terra State Community College (Fremont) to become a licensed Counselor Assistant and then received her Bachelors from the University of Toledo.  Finally she achieved her dream of earning a Master’s in Forensic Psychology/Criminal Justice from Tiffin University. While in Bellevue Nannette was a volunteer with Age Exchange pairing elderly residents with at-risk children.

Nanny believed in education and realized how all individuals are life-long learners.  She recognized that ignorance is a disability that could be overcome; and she was right!
