Richard E. Hessick

Richard E. Hessick, 89, of rural Tiffin, died at Tiffin Mercy Hospital on Monday, October 22, 2018.

"Dick" was born in Seneca County, Ohio on October 20, 1929 to Dewey and Grace (Craig) Hessick. He was a 1947 graduate of Green Springs High School.

He was a member of Green Springs United Methodist Church. He had been an Adams Township Trustee and a long time member of The National Spotted Association. He enjoyed hog showing and is a member of the Hall of Fame in the Swine Barn at the Ohio State Fair. He and Jackie liked basketball, attending many games, including the OSU girls . Along with these activities, Dick appreciated food.

For many years, he was a farmer, mostly hogs. Later, he worked at the Green Hills Golf Course.

On February 28, 1948, he married Jacqueline Miller. She survives, along with four children, Annettta  (David) Alexander of Wayne, Ohio; James Hessick of Boise, Idaho; Timothy (Sarah) Hessick of Tiffin and Loretta Hessick of Four Corners, Montana. Ten grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren also survive. One sister, Donna Jean Preston survives in Toledo.

Mr. Hessick was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Monica Marie Hessick, along with siblings Evelyn Fox; Robert Hessick and Rowena Moll.

Visitation will be on Monday, October 29, 2018 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. Graveside services will be in held on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 1:30 pm at Green Springs Cemetery.
