Richard Don Mentzer

Richard Don Mentzer, 83, of Tiffin, died at his home on Saturday, February 9, 2019.

Dick was born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 6, 1935 to Russell and Thelma (Miller) Mentzer. He graduated from Lakewood High School in 1953, and then Heidelberg College, (now University) in 1957.

He was employed at Mercy Hospital in the lab for many years at the supervisor, prior to his retirement.

Mr. Mentzer was a member of the Family of Faith Lutheran Church in Tiffin.

On October 26, 1963, he married Sally Sue Pawsey. She preceded him in death on January 5, 2015.

Four children survive, Michelle Oschmann of Colorado; Shari Rochester of Florida; Christopher J. Mentzer of Arizona and Pamela (John) Hohman of Tiffin. Three granddaughters and two grandsons also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Ronald Mentzer; a brother Robert Mentzer and  infant brother.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 15, 2019 from 10:00 am until the service at Noon at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospital Lab Funds or Community Hospice.
