Richard L. "Rocksalt" Williams, Sr., 70, of Green Springs, formerly of Clyde, died at Eden Springs in Green Springs on Wednesday, December 12, 2018.

Richard was born in Fremont on August 23, 1948 to Walter and Catherine (Brown) Williams. He attended Clyde Schools.

He was a proud CB and ham radio operator.  He was a member of the former Clydetown Truckers, who during the blizzard on 1978 rescued people in distress as part of their service to the community. Richard also played guitar, having been a band member of several local bands, including, Pete and the Playboys. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and pickup trucks.

Because of his illness, he had retired from H.J. Heinz in Fremont.

Survivors include his children, Richard L. Williams, Jr. of Berwick, Ohio; Kimberly (Scott) Keefe of Tiffin; Michael J. Williams of Toledo and Brian A. Williams of Hickory, NC. Twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, and a half brother, Norman Walker in Sandusky also survive. Shirley Nielsen of Castalia, his former wife, and mother of his children survives as well.

Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Seamon Williams in 2014; his parents and two siblings, Ruth Ann Mitchell and Robert Williams are also deceased.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 1-5:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home 218 South Main St., Clyde. Private family burial will be held.
