Robert A. Shingledecker, 95, formerly of State Route 547, Bellevue, died at The Willows of Bellevue on Saturday, September 23, 2017.

Robert was born in Dayton, Ohio on November 19, 1921 to the now deceased Alvin and Margaret Lucille (Allen) Shingledecker.

He was a 1940 graduate of Kiser High School in Dayton.

Mr. Shingledecker was a Navy veteran, serving in both WWII and the Korean War.

Bob was a member of the former St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bellevue. He was a life-long farmer.

On June 26, 1948, he married Anna Mae Linder. She preceded him in death on March 17, 2004.

Survivors include four children, Roberta Linder of Springfield, Ohio; Nancy Shingledecker of Toledo ; Gary Shingledecker of Bellevue and Neil (Jan) Shingledecker of Bellevue. Three granddaughters; Ashly Miller; Mandi Platt and Kala Shingledecker, along with seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Shingledecker and two sisters, Joanne Busse and Lois Thompson.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 5-7:00 pm at Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St., Bellevue. A private funeral service will be held.

Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Bellevue.

Memorials may be made, in lieu of flowers, to Huron County Humane Society or the Veteran's organization of the donor's choice.
