Samuel William Frank, 77, of Bellevue, died Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at his home.
He was born May 20, 1940 in Bellevue to Basil and Jeanette (Nasonti) Frank. Sam graduated from Bellevue High School in 1958 and served our country in the US Navy from 1958-1962. He was a tow motor operator at Armstrong until his retirement in 1997.
Sam was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, and the former Club AmerItal, and was a former member of the Bellevue Eagles. He loved to cook and was especially known for making his meatballs. For many years, he organized the Youth Fishing Rodeo for Armstrong. Sam was the life of the party and a friend to many; he never met a stranger. To many of his friends, he was known as the "Walleye Snagger" or "Snagers".
Survivors include daughters: Tammy (James) Buchanan, Heidi Black, and Jeri (Rick) Straub, all of Bellevue; sisters: Mary Ann (Dave) Bell and Roseann Frank, both of Bellevue; uncle, Sandy Nasonti of Bellevue; grandchildren: Haley Renae Frank; Danielle Kaye (Jake Murphy) Norman; Michael Scott Hahn; Samantha Jo (Rory Sheeks) Norman; Savannah Carolyn (Jacob) Armstrong; Cory Michael Black; Drew Buchanan; Sydney Rachelle Straub; Tessa Raeanne Buchanan; Evan James Straub; great-grandchildren: Nolan Lee Lindsey; Jaxon Michael-Wayne Armstrong; Rydder Thomas Skylar Sheeks; Kodi James Armstrong; and expected in 2018, Baby Boy Murphy and Baby Boy Sheeks; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents and his son-in-law, Michael Black.
Visitation will be 6-8:00pm Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Auxter Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1105 Castalia St, Bellevue. Private family graveside services will be in Bellevue St. Mary's Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Bellevue Eagles Youth Fishing Rodeo or to the family.
