Sue E. (Taylor) Smith

Sue E. Smith, 77, of Clyde, died at Promedica Memorial Hospital in Fremont on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, following declining health.

Sue was born in Fremont on May 18, 1941 to George Kenneth and Lucille Elizabeth (Gategar) Taylor.

She was a member of the Clyde High School graduating class of 1959. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde and a life member to the Eagles Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary.

Sue was a wonderful cook and child care provider. After she retired from the offices in the City of Clyde, she provided child care for 18 years to area children. She had also worked at the Sandusky County Court offices and the former Good Samaritan Hospital in Sandusky.

On October 16, 1976, she married Donald R. Smith. He survives, along with children, Brenda (James) Sieger; Mark (Tina) Dencer; Cindy (Bill) Selvey all of Clyde;  Corky (Todd) Lamson and Carin (Mike) Oberdorf all of Green Springs. Nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two brothers, Donald (Jean) Taylor and Timothy (Melanie) Taylor all of Clyde also survive. Don's siblings, Lois (Raymond) Nolan survives in Vista, California and Merrill (Glenda) Smith are in Fremont with James (Terri) Smith in Clyde.

Visitation will be on Monday, February 4, 2019 from 4-7:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. The funeral will be on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 10:30 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Kurt Luebkeman officiating. Burial will be in Bakertown Cemetery.
