Thomas L. Hildreth, 93, of Bellevue, died Sunday, August 26, 2018 at the Willows at Bellevue.
He was born December 5, 1924 in Lima, Ohio to Harry L. & Mayme (Sexton) Hildreth. He graduated from Lima Central High School in 1942 and The Ohio State University in 1947 with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He was first employed by Viking Manufacturing in Cleveland, then the Perfection Industries Division of the Hupp Corp, then McGraw Edison Co in Albion, Michigan, then Johnson Furnace in Bellevue, until his retirement. Mr. Hildreth was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Bellevue, as well as the Bellevue Lions Club. He enjoyed music, especially playing percussion in the Northcoast Concert Band, Green Springs Community Band, The Gang Band, and Windjammers Unlimited.
Survivors include his sons: Dale (Ethel) Hildreth of Norwalk and David (Diane) Hildreth of Ft. Worth, Texas; five grandchildren: Bryany Hildreth; Billy Hildreth; Kristi Briley; Josh Briley; Doug (Dayna) Hildreth; and four great-grandchildren: Emma, Kennedy, Artavian, Jayce.
Tom was preceded by his wife, Jenneth (O'Dea) Hildreth in November 1977 and his long-time companion, Helen Walter in June 2012.
Visitation will be 4-7pm Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the Auxter Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1105 Castalia St, Bellevue. His funeral service will be 10:30am Thursday, Sept. 6 at the First United Methodist Church, 901 Northwest St, Bellevue with Rev. Justin Jump officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
