William Bruce Jones, 89, of Clyde,  passed away at Stein Hospice on March 23.

Bill was born in Follansbee, WV on June 22, 1927 to Gwilym and Alva (Rosselle) Jones.

He came to Clyde in 1973 and worked for the Clyde Green Springs Schools, retiring as principal of South Main Elementary School.

He married Judy Smith in June of 1983 and she survives.

Also surviving are his daughters Kyle Lucas, Cyd Romey (Mark),  and Kim Jones.

He had 7 grandchildren Amy, Marie, Michelle, David, Megan, Kristen and Benjamin and 8 great grand children and 3 great-great grand children.

He was preceded in death by his twin brother Sydney, his first wife Shirley and his step daughter Jennifer.  Family and friends have always been an important part of his life.

Bill was veteran of the Navy, a member of St Paul Lutheran Church, he belonged to  Monticello Lodge F&AM. Fremont Council 64, Royal Arch Masons, Fremont Commandery #56, Knights of the York Cross of Honor and the Zenobia Shrine.

In addition to all of the Masonic activities which he loved, Bill belonged to Sleepy Hollow Golf Course for many years and enjoyed playing golf there.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be on Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 2-6:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. Masonic services will be held at 6:00 pm. The funeral will be on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde with Rev. Gerhardt Gosnell officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Stein Hospice.
