Alphonso D. Rossi

Alphonso "Al" D. Rossi, 73, of Bellevue, died at the Stein Hospice facility in Sandusky, Ohio, on Monday, February 26, 2024.

On June 1, 1950, he was born in Italy to Antonetta (Gubitosi) and Basilio Rossi. His parents are now deceased.

When he was 4 years old, the family moved to Ohio. Al was a 1968 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and then Youngstown State University. He was first a teacher, then studied and became a Registered Nurse, working in various hospitals.

On February 15, 1975, he married Cherylle McElwain. She survives. His two sisters, Mary Sherokee of Warren and Loretta Rossi of Niles also survive.

Cherylle and Al's son, Anthony Francis Rossi preceded him in death in 2009.

A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Bellevue. Burial will be in Bellevue City Cemetery.
