Beverly J. (Gilbert) Burroughs

Beverly J. Burroughs, 76, of Clyde, died on Monday, July 17, 2023, following a health battle for several years. She was at the Ayden Healthcare in Waterville.

Bev was born in New London, Ohio on August 21, 1946 to the now deceased Phyllis (Duecker) and Robert Gilbert. 

She had been a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde. With the exception of her very early life, Bev lived on the same street in Clyde her entire life. 

A 1964 graduate of Clyde High School, Bev worked at the former Clyde Savings Bank for 27 years prior to her retirement. Following her retirement, she worked at CF Professional in Tiffin, Ohio.

Mrs. Burroughs enjoyed many crafts: sewing, painting, scrapbooking as well as gardening and taking care of her flowers.

On her birthday in 1965, she married Donald E. Burroughs. He survives, as do their three daughters: Rhonda (Thomas) Yeazel of Washington Court House, Ohio; Susan Capucini of Clyde and Dawn (Christopher) Gibson of Castalia. Eight grandchildren, Lauren (Kris); Mark (Desiree), Nathan (Racheal); Marcy, Erica; Shelby (James), Aldon, and Dylan and nine great grandchildren survive as well. One sister, Nancy (Louie) Snyder of Clyde also is surviving.

Visitation will be on Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main Street, Clyde, Ohio. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023 at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery.
