Beverly Bonita Orr, 89, passed away September 28, 2021 at Promedica Skilled Nursing Facility of Perrysburg, OH.
Bev was born September 20, 1932 in Willard, OH to Lois (Ashley) and Harold Mitchell.
She was a 1950 Graduate of Norwalk High School.
She met Wilmer (Bill) Orr while both were employed at General Electric/Bellevue Lamp Plant. They married July 20, 1953 in Angola, IN.
Bev continued to work at GE as a Machine Operator, and served as a Union Steward, until the plant closed in 1985.
Bev and Bill raised their family in Bellevue, then moved to Tiffin in 1991. Bev most recently resided at Browning Masonic Home in Waterville.
Bev became a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Bellevue, in 1966 and was a long-standing member of Eastern Star Althea Chapter 438, Monroeville. She served as a Children’s Sunday School Teacher and Boy Scout Den Mother. In later years, she volunteered at local nursing facilities and Seneca County CASA.
Bev enjoyed crafting, playing cards and video games. Scenic drives to the shores of Lake Erie and Amish country were favorite pastimes.
Bev was preceded in death by her husband (1998) and an infant Great-Grandson. She will be remembered by her surviving children: Marcy (Jeff) Berger of Clyde, Ken (Cindy) Orr of Bellevue, Tom Orr of Perrysburg, Christina (Christopher) Kuhlman of Norwalk, Betsy (Mark) Mejia of Bryan and Dan (Ana) Orr of Shelbyville, KY.
Bev is also survived by 13 Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren and one brother, Bob Mitchell of Lorain.
The family will honor Bev’s request for no memorial service. Arrangements were made at Auxter Funeral Home, Bellevue, with private interment at Bellevue Cemetery on a later date.
Memorial donations can be made to a charity of the donor’s choosing.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their services.
