Brian R. Wammes

Brian R. Wammes, 60, of Clyde, died at his home, following a six year battle with early on set Alzheimer’s, on Wednesday, April 27, 2022.

Brian was born in Fremont on June 20,1961 to Susanne (Coleman) and Charles “Charlie” Wammes.

He was a 1979 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Fremont. He had worked at The Whirlpool Corp for over 34 years, prior to his illness.

For many years, Brian has been a member of the Coon Creek Hunt Club.

On August 24,2004 he married Gwen Coleman Brooks. She survives, along with two stepsons, Raymond Brooks and Dustin Brooks. Eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren  survive along with his brother, Randy (Brandi) Wammes of Fremont and sister, Suzette Wammes also survive. Gwen’s siblings, Jackie (Paul) Billman of Tiffin, Fred (Vickie) Coleman of Green Springs and Charlotte (Ron) Wears of Fremont survive as well.

Mr. Wammes was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Scott Wammes.

Visitation will be on Monday, May 2,2022 from 3-6:00pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. The funeral will be on Tuesday, May 3,2022 at 11:00 am with visitation from 10:00 am at the funeral home.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to Alzheimer's or Heartland Hospice.
