Carolyn J. (Quaintance) Brooks

Carolyn J. Brooks, 63, of Clyde, died on Monday, March 15, 2021 at Toledo ProMedica Hospital.

 

Carolyn was one of nine children born  to the now deceased Paul Jack and Elaine( Sprow) Quaintance. She was born on August 2, 1957 in Fremont.

 

She was a member of the 1975 graduating class of Clyde High School.

 

She had worked for Jobs and Family Services in Sandusky County until she retired, More recently, Carolyn was the manager of the Holiday Inn Express in Fremont. 

 

Mrs. Brooks liked to bake and have holiday festivities but her greatest joy and love was her family, especially her grandchildren. 

 

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Jerome Brooks, whom she married on February 14, 2015 and three children, Cory (Helen) Barney of South Carolina; Eric (Cindy) Barney of North Carolina and Heather (Larry) Coleman of Green Springs. Also eleven grandchildren and three step daughters, Linda Lee Brooks of Oak Harbor; Lesley Ann Brooks of Genoa and Victoria Brooks of Fremont. In addition, six siblings survive, Dave Quaintance of Clyde; Sue Lutz of Tiffin; Shirley Kuhn of Bellevue; Tom (Nadine) Quaintance of Clyde; Bob Quaintance of Springfield and Mary Quaintance of South Carolina. Her sister-in-law, Gloria Quaintance survives in Green Springs.

 

Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon McDonald and brother, Fred Quaintance.

 

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 9:30 am until the 11:00 am service at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde. The use of masks and social distancing will be observed. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
