Clyde F. Gill 91, of Clyde, Ohio died at his home on Thursday, December 31, 2020.
Clyde was born in Republic, Ohio on March 15, 1929 to the now deceased Allen R. and Laura (Shellhorn) Gill.
He was a member of the 1947 graduating class of Clyde High School.
In 1992 he retired from the A.R. Gill and Sons building and remodeling firm. He then worked at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course for a number of years.
Mr. Gill was a member of First United Methodist Church, Clyde. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and golf. On his many trips to the Amish country, he set the itinerary for the day, most importantly, the meal while backing out of the driveway. Clyde loved ALL travel and was able to enjoy traveling for many years. But, of all the many blessing he counted, family and especially his grandchildren were at the top.
On August 14, 1948, he married Joan Cleveland. She preceded him in death on October 4, 2003.
His survivors include four children, Kathleen Mathews of Clyde; Deborah (Gary) Overmyer of Clyde; Jennifer (Debbie Snow) Gill of Whitehouse and Mark (Meloney) Gill of Clyde. Ten grandchildren, Eric; Amy; Matt; Tanner; Trevor; Adysan; Abby; Austin; Ashtyn and Alex, along with 18 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild survive as well. His companion, Judy Stiger is of Clyde. His sister, Marge Saville and brother, Gerald (Paula) Gill are all living in Clyde.
Clyde was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Gill and Tom Gill.
Private services will be held.
After the Covid mandates, a Celebration of Life for Clyde, will be held.
Memorials may be made, if desired, to The First United Methodist Church, Clyde or American Cancer Society or National Wild Turkey Federation or to the Donor's Choice.
