Donald L. Brooks, 75, of Clyde, died on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky.
Don was born in Shelby, Ohio on October 7, 1944 to Donald L. Sr., and Pauline (Amert) Brooks.
He lived in Green Springs, Ohio, graduating from Green Springs High School in 1962. Then joined the United States Army, serving in Viet Nam.
Mr. Brooks had worked for the State of Ohio in the highway department.
He as an avid golfer, liked to go to the casinos and had played pool for years. His favorite times were spent with his granddaughter, Paige, shopping and hanging out.
On June 21, 1969, he married Georgann Kovalick. She preceded him in death on July 25, 2012.
Survivors include daughter, Heidi (Donnie) Biglin of Castalia; granddaughter, Paige; his mother, Pauline Brooks of Clyde; and three sisters, Charlene (Joe) Barrett of Clyde; Rosemary Drown of Clyde; and Betty Schell of Fremont.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A walk-through visitation will be on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main Street, Clyde, Ohio. Please enter the front door of the funeral home, then exiting out the back. A family graveside service, with military honors, will be held.
