Donald F. Koser, 88, of Bellevue, died Monday, March 2, 2020 at the Bellevue Care Center.
He was born December 2, 1931 in Bellevue to Harry C. & Helen O. (Weber) Koser. He graduated in 1949 from Bellevue High School and served our country in the US Navy aboard an aircraft carrier during the Korean War. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Bellevue. Don was a talented woodworker and craftsman who created many beautiful pieces over the years. He enjoyed square dancing and was a dance teacher with his wife. He also farmed for Dr. Irons.
On March 15, 1958 he married Phyllis M. (Mitchell) and she preceded him in death on February 3, 2009.
Survivors include his siblings: Richard Koser of Bellevue; Betty Schaefer of Bixton, Maine; Nancy (Henry) Huff of Kelliher, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Don was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Louis Koser; sisters, Catherine (George) Peters and Ella Bursley; sister-in-law, Nancy Koser; and brother-in-law, Charles Schaefer.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00pm Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at the Auxter Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1105 Castalia St, Bellevue. His funeral service will be 10:30am Thursday, March 5 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 209 Southwest St, Bellevue with Rev. Mark Bogen officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue City Cemetery.
