Earl J. Daniel, 93, of Bellevue died at Stein Hospice on Friday, October 29, 2021.
Earl was born in Republic, Ohio on August 12,1928 to the now deceased Amelia (Wise) and Florian Daniel.
He was an area lifetime resident, having worked at numerous places including the Ohio Cultivator Corp.; the railroad; driving taxi; painting houses; until he began working at Evert Brothers Tire Service, and later became co-owner and operator of East Side Tire in Bellevue.
Mr. Daniel was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; the VFW and American Legion. He had been the Past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus #752; Past President of the Mad River Railroad Museum, along with serving for over 30 years as a Bellevue Volunteer Fireman. He like to eat out, loved to play euchre and enjoyed camping. He and Virginia were avid square dancers when they were able.
Earl never met a stranger and always had time to visit and talk to all.
Mr. Daniel served in the United States Army.
On September 15, 1951, he married Virginia M. Colvin. She preceded him in death on April 12, 2020.
Their children; Charles (Marianne) Daniel; Thomas Daniel (Ramona) Daniel, all of Bellevue and Dorthy (William) Baker of Port Clinton and Janet Daniel of Maumee survive. Also eight grandchildren, Aaron (Sue) Daniel; Leisha (John) Santilli: David Daniel; Benjamin (Brianne) Daniel; Eric (Ashley) Daniel; Brad (Sarah) Miller; Theresa Miller and Jason (Keesha) Miller , as well as two step grandchildren; Cara (Jim) Baker and Brandy Baker survive. Fifteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild survive. Two sisters--in-law, Brema Colvin of Port Clinton and Nancy Daniel of Bellevue also survive.
Earl was the last of the Daniel siblings. Howard; Raymond; Delbert Daniel, Catherine Egbert and Mardella Smoot are deceased.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St., Bellevue, Ohio. The funeral will be on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at 10:30 am at St. Paul United Church of Christ Bellevue. Burial, with military honors, will be at Block Cemetery.
