Emily A. Sayles, 90, of Clyde, died at the Bellevue Care Center on Sunday, October 11, 2020, following declining health.
Emily was the youngest of four children born to Ralph and Edna (Cunningham) Sayles. She was born in Fremont On July 28, 1930.
A 1948 graduate of Clyde High School, she attended Ohio University, then graduated from Heidelberg University. She taught English and Debate at various schools, including Admiral King in Lorain and St. Mary Catholic School in Clyde.
Ms Sayles was a life long member of the First Presbyterian Church in Clyde.
Survivors include a sister, Lois (Robert) Arter of Lansing, Kansas; two nieces, Ann Purcell and Caroline Arter and one nephew, John (Diedre) Purcell; one great niece Jess Purcell, one great nephew Kyle Marykeski; along with two great great nieces and one great nephew.
She was preceded by the love of her life, her husband, Marshall "Brownie" Brown. Also her sister Margaret Purcell and her brother David Sayles and nephew, Robert John Arter.
A private service will be held, along with burial in Milan Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Sandusky County Humane Society or the First Presbyterian Church, Clyde.
