Ervin J. Shufelt, 90, of Bellevue, died Friday, July 15, 2022 at his home.
He was born January 7, 1932 in McComb, Ohio to William & Ethel (Mapes) Shufelt. He graduated from McComb High School and worked out of the Ohio Operating Engineers Local 18 for over 38 years. He served our country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the Bellevue VFW and Bellevue Eagles.
On October 29, 1955 he married Barbara (Engler) and she survives in Bellevue. Also surviving are their children: Kevin Shufelt of Bellevue; Kelly (Dean) Frederick of Bellville; and Karen (John) Miller of Tiffin; grandchildren: Ryan Frederick of Bellevue; Monica Todd of Kingsville; Jordan (Felicia) Frederick of Bellevue; Morgan (Dallas) Trumbull of Oak Harbor; and Jacob (Megan) O'Neil of Kentucky; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Ervin was preceded in death by his son, Keith Shufelt in 1988.
Military graveside services will be 11:30am Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at the Bellevue City Cemetery. His military tribute will be performed by the Bellevue VFW, American Legion, and Marine Corps League. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Association.
