Eugene W. Dendinger

Eugene W. Dendinger, 86, of Bellevue, died Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky.

 

He was born October 2, 1934 in Bellevue to William & Frances (Daniel) Dendinger.  He attended St. Michael's School until 8th grade, and graduated from Thompson High School in 1953.  Gene was a faithful member of St. Gaspar del Bufalo Catholic Church.  For over 30 years, he owned the Sohio service station in Bellevue.  He was also a member of the Bellevue Eagles.

 

On October 29, 1955 he married Inez (Fuchs) and she survives in Bellevue.  Also surviving are their children: Michael (Lisa) Dendinger; James (Cindy) Dendinger; Steven (Rhonda) Dendinger, all of Bellevue; and Sharon (Don Jr.) Poore of Fremont; nine grandchildren: Nicole (Zach) Jones; Dana (Jimmy) Boyeas; Brad (Emily) Dendinger; Ryan (Dana) Dendinger; Samantha Dendinger; Geoff (Danielle) Dendinger; Kelcey Dendinger; Sarah Poore; Kari Poore; thirteen great-grandchildren: Nolan, Ethan, Ellaina, Everly, Griffin, Madilyn, Abigal, Logan, Aiden, Leo, Nash, Rhett, Jed; and his sister, Annamarie Meyer of Bellevue.

 

In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his grandson, Trevor Dendinger and his brother, Sylvester "Jake" Dendinger. 

 

Visitation will be 2:00-5:00pm Sunday, June 6, 2021 at the Auxter Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1105 Castalia St, Bellevue.  The Rosary will be recited at 5:00pm Sunday.  His funeral mass will be 12:00noon on Monday, June 7 at St. Gaspar del Bufalo Catholic Church, 16209 E. County Road 46, Bellevue with Rev. Scott Kramer officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery.  

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Gaspar del Bufalo, Sorrowful Mother Shrine, or Stein Hospice.
