Evelyn Irene Warner, 99, of Vickery, died at her home, on Monday, July 6, 2020.
Mrs. Warner was born in Greenville, Ohio on March 10, 1921 to the now deceased Ortho and Ethel Mae (Baumgarder) Jay.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Clyde; the Ohio Flying Farmers, whom she served as "Queen" in 1969' and formerly the Cowbells.
Evelyn enjoyed traveling and her flowers, but her calling in life was to be a superb homemaker and mother. She loved to glide in her glider on the front porch watching her sons and grandsons go by while they worked. Her family considers her " the best sugar beet truck driver ever".
Mrs. Warner is preceded in death, on November 12, 2016, by her husband, William I. Warner, whom she married on September 12, 1942.
Five children, Patricia (Gil) Root of Fremont; Kay Collins of Vickery; Janet (Denny) Snyder of Fremont; David (Sally) Warner of Vickery; and Daniel (Sue) Warner of Fremont survive. Also eighteen grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren, along with her brother, Gary Jay of Greenville; sisters-in-law, Norma Jay and Mary Esther Jay; brother-in-law, Norman (Betty Roble) Warner of Vickery; and sister-in-law, Betty (Bob) Wright of Clyde.
Preceding her in death, were two sons, Jack Warner in 1980 and William Warner, Jr in 1994; one grandson, James Lee Warner, along with one sister, Betty Weider; and four brothers; Bill Jay; Raymond Jay; Carl Gene Jay and Lloyd Jay.
Due to the current health concerns, family services will be held. Those who wish to attend the graveside service may do so at 11:00 am on Friday, July 10, 2020 at Parkhurst Cemetery.
Memorials may be made, if desired to St Jude's Children's Hospital or Stein Hospice.
