Freda Melissa (Collins) Combs, 89, passed away peacefully in her home in the early hours of Saturday, June 6, 2020.
Freda was born on April 21, 1931 in Tiffin, Ohio and was the third of six children.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In 1955, she met the love of her life and on April 16, 1956, she married Willie combs, Jr.
In their 64 years of marriage, they enjoyed camping, traveling and spending their winter in Florida.
Freda enjoyed writing letters, reading and playing cards. She lived a full and complete life of love and laughter.
Fred was a homemaker. Raising her boys was her honor and always an adventure. Her boys, Paul Bramel, of Tiffin: Jerry (Joanne) Collins of Port Clinton; Brion (Teresa) Combs of Clyde; Roger Combs of Clyde; James (Jackie) Combs of Clyde and Dustin (Kimberly) Combs of Austin Texas , were her life. She always thought of them as her babies, even as they grew into grown men. She was proud of each and every on of them for the men that they had become. Freda always gave unconditional love to her children, regardless of how ornery they were.
She loved taking care of her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She often called them her pride and joy. She was always on the go with them and enjoyed staying busy. Freda loved riding her bike with her grandchildren. She enjoyed telling them stories of her younger days, about growing up in a small town, life before technology and falling iin love. The memories she created for her grandchildren will be the stories they share with their children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Willie Combs, Jr. of Clyde; sister, Delores Sisco of Bettsville and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Paul and Lillian Collins; son, James Combs; sister Betty Webber; brothers; Jack Collins; Theodore "Skip" Collins and Jim Collins.
