George Trapp Obituary

George E. Trapp, 91, of Bellevue, died Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at the Bellevue Hospital.
 
He was born November 25, 1928 in Elwood, Indiana to George J. & Mildred (Beck) Trapp.  He graduated high school and served our country in the Korean War, earning the rank of Corporal.  He worked 37 years for the Nickel Plate, later Norfolk Southern Railroad. 
 
George was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Bellevue; Eagles #490, where he had served as President; American Legion Post #83; Elks Lodge #1013; Knights of Columbus #752; 4th degree Knights of Columbus - Bishop Machebeuf #813, where he had served as Faithful Navigator; and he volunteered as a committee man for Boy Scout Troop #221.
 
On June 13, 1953 he married Ignatia (DeLiberto) and she survives in Bellevue.  Also surviving are their sons: George J. (Rose) Trapp II of Delaware and Paul A. Trapp of Amherst; grandchildren: Jeremy (Christy) Trapp of Spencer, North Carolina; Joseph (Jennifer) Trapp of Youngsville, Louisiana; Anthony (Amanda) Trapp of Lakewood; Natalie Trapp of Miami, Florida; Erin (Jeffry) Rancher of Amherst; great-grandchildren: Maddox Trapp; Lilly Trapp; Ava Trapp; Julianne Trapp; Rocco Trapp; Bliss Rancher; Layla Rancher.
 
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his sister, Rosemary Krouse.
 
George's request was to donate his body to the Ohio State University Medical Center for medical research.  A memorial mass will be 11:00 am on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center St, Bellevue with Rev. Jonathan Wight officiating. 
 
Memorials may be made to Immaculate Conception School Tuition Fund or Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
