Geraldine "Dolly" R. Colvin, 89, lifetime resident of Vickery, and resident of Crystal River, Florida, died in Crystal River on Wednesday, September 22, 2021.
Dolly was born on Route 20 Clyde in the former Sigbert House, on May 3, 1932 to the now deceased Viola (Leber) and Gerald "Kuny" C. Mapus.
She was a member of the 1950 graduating class of the former Townsend High School.
Mrs. Colvin was also a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Vickery where she had formerly served as a Sunday school teacher and Bible School teacher. Also she was the "director" of the Cherub Choir. and the head of the Red Cross Bloodmobile at the church. Along with those activities, she was the organizer of the Mystery Dinners that the church would have there.
On October 28, 1950, she married Robert L. Colvin. Bob and Dolly where able to celebrate 59 years of marriage, prior to his death on February 2, 2011.
Survivors include their three children, Jerry (Sally) Colvin of Vickery; Kaye (Stephen) Dimoff of Woodville and Kathy (Doug) Bogart of Crystal River, Florida. Severn grandchildren Amy (Adam) Buchanan; Todd (Samantha) Colvin: Julie (Nate) Wolfe; Krista (Steven) Rice; Jyn (Chris) Varason; Bethany (Garris) Barton; Caitlin (Jessie) Parker survive, as do eleven great grandchildren, Brandon Buchanan; Levi Colvin; Olivia Colvin; Conner Rice; Kaylee Rice; Will I. Varason; Dresden B. Varason; Corban L. Barton; Olivia F. Barton; Skryker A. Barton; Lena C. Barton. In November 2021, Katie K. Barton and in January Einar B. Varason will add to the great grandchildren for Mrs. Colvin. Her two sisters, Joanne "Tip" Thompson and Bertie Lou Fleming both of Vickery.
Mrs. Colvin was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Stephen Dimoff and a great granddaughter, Kaitlynn Nicholas.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 4:00 pm -7:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. The funeral will be on Saturday at 10:00 am, with additional visitation from 9:00 am at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Vickery with Rev. Tim Loehrke and Rev. Gerhardt Gosnell officiating. Burial will be in Venice Cemetery.
