H. Dale Caudill

H. Dale Caudill, 67, died at the Stein Hospice in Sandusky on Wednesday, March 08, 2023 following a battle with cancer.

Dale was born in Norton, Virginia on June 3, 1955 to the now deceased Wynona (Poff) and Harrison G. Caudill. Harrison G. died when Dale was and infant, and Wynona married Glenn Caudill, Harrison G.’s brother. Later, Glenn and Wynona divorced. She then married Duane Copsey, who survives.

He was a member of the 1973 graduating class of Clyde High School.

Two years ago, after 45 years working on the railroad, first Penn Central and finally Norfolk Southern, he retired. Dale was able to work in construction on his own house and those of his family, something he wanted to do. His favorite time was spent with the family, especially the grandchildren.

On June 8, 1979, he married Pamela Gray. She along with their four children, Jocelyn Caudill of Clyde; Benjamin Caudill (Melanie Jenne) of Clyde; Seth (Andrea) Caudill of Clyde and Nathaniel (Dijana) Caudill of Sandusky survive. Fourteen grandchildren, Kayden, Tyler, Grace; Braylin, Brenna, Bree, Charlie; Adelynn, Harrison, Graham; Natalie, Tylen, Harper and Darko survive, along with his siblings, Mike (Sue) Caudill of Clyde; James (Suzie) Caudill of Clyde and Kimberly (Drew) Goins of Clarksville, Tennessee.

Dale was preceded in death by his sister, Cindy Aldrich.

Visitation will be on Sunday, March 12, 2023 from 2:00 -5:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. The funeral will be on Monday, March 13, 2023 at 10:30 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Forest Street, Clyde with the Rev. Kurt Luebkeman officiating. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery.
